Here's where you'll find much of my work from the past years of freelance jobs, unsold gallery works, and some highlights
from my commissioned pieces. Many of these are standalone work - if you'd like to see some of my series or thematic pieces, look under the "Series" header above.
All pieces marked with a price are for sale, but if you see something you like that's already sold, feel free to contact me at the links below.
2010, NFS, Acrylic and Paper on Wood; 13"W X 49"L Originally created during further money woes, this piece was inspired by one of my professors in Graduate School continually using the term "Paradigm Shift" to describe ANY change that happened. Upon graduation, I considered the financial burden that Grad School had left me, and if the pay stipend I received from the education was worth the time and effort involved... Hence the financial implications of the many "ParaDIMES" in this piece.
22" X 18", Acrylic and Gesso on Canvas Inspired by the German Expressionistic film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and the images contained within, herein is the mad doctor himself, or at least as the protagonist, Francis, portrays him - as a mad, jumbled, disheveled madman, whose only interest is seeing the predictions of his somnambulist, Cesare, realized.
19" X 24", Acrylic and Gesso on Wood Inspired by the German Expressionistic film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and the images contained within, this is my rendition of "Jane" the young woman and would-be fiancee' whom is kidnapped by Cesare' the Somnambulist in Caligari's devious schemes. Of all the characters in the film, she is the most stoic, and the purest thing in the mind's eye of the narrator of the tale - hence the stark shapes and values used.
38" X 11", Acrylic on Wood Inspired by the German Expressionistic film "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" and the images contained within, this is my rendition of the mural poster that Caligari first shows to advertise Cesare' the Somnambulist - his chosen subject.
2009; NFS, 22"w X 28"l; Acrylic with Texture on Collage on Masonite board. On a set in the summer of 2009 a PA gave me a book of old painting face techniques he bought for 1$ at a local garage sale the day previous. Touched that he thought of me, but more than a little creeped out by the faces within, I made this collage and then painted the "Zombie" in high contrast on top of them.
11" X 17", Gesso and Acrylic on Canvas One of two paintings done for my kids, this one is meant for Ian, my son. Aspects of femininity come into every male child, and aspects of masculinity come into every female child. Discovery of sexual identity is a big part of existence within our culture.
11" X 17", Gesso and Acrylic on Canvas One of two paintings done for my kids, this one is meant for Kendall, my Daughter. Aspects of femininity come into every male child, and aspects of masculinity come into every female child. Discovery of sexual identity is a big part of existence within our culture.
